BES Consulting Helps Punch

BES Consulting has secured a two year deal with Punch Taverns to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to all of its leased pubs across Northern England and Scotland.

The deal comes after BES Consulting announced a £1m investment in building the largest field based team of EPC qualified engineers in Britain.

BES Consulting, which has offices and engineers across the UK, provides full managed risk assessment and statutory compliance services to the top 1,000 multi-sited businesses.

In addition to providing EPCs, which became a legal requirement for all pubs let or sold from 1st October, BES Consulting will produce a model showing how licensees can cut energy waste and reduce carbon footprint.

"This is great news for Punch Taverns' lessees," said Steven Daniels, Sales & Marketing Director, BES Consulting.  "Our work will help them identify ways to cut energy costs at a time when they are feeling the pinch as gas and electricity bills soar."

In addition to the cost savings, the work being carried out by BES Consulting will help Punch Taverns achieve its goal of a 17% reduction in carbon emissions.

"BES Consulting will not only help us to meet our legal obligations but the detailed reports will help us improve the energy efficiency of our pubs," said Punch Taverns' Group Head of Facilities, Stephen Allen.

"The cost of obtaining the EPC could be considered an investment when you consider the substantial savings that can be immediately generated by following recommendations in the reports".
