Appointment of Quality, Health & Safety Director

Property compliance specialist BES Consulting has promoted Matt Walker to the newly created role of Quality, Health & Safety Director.

Matthew joined BES Consulting in November 2000 and he has over eight years' experience in asbestos consultancy.

During this time, Matthew has worked with blue chip clients to develop policies, procedures and strategies to drive compliance with legislative requirements and he has also been involved in supply chain procurement.

Before taking his new role Matthew had worked as BES Consulting's Head of Abatement.

As Quality, Health and Safety Director, Matthew is developing compliance services to improve BES Consulting's managed service offering.  These include strengthening the company's risk assessment services in areas such as fire and legionella.

"We have recently led the market by adding several new property compliance services, including the new Energy Performance Certificates," said Matthew.

"In my new role, I'll be ensuring that our service offering becomes even stronger and that we can maximise the opportunities to cross-sell services among our clients - major retailers, pubs and public sector bodies with large property portfolios.

Another key challenge is to maintain our strength in the health and safety sector and I'm currently looking to develop an overarching policy."

BES Consulting recently announced a £1m investment in building the largest field-based team of surveyors qualified to help commercial property managers to reduce their energy costs and receive Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

EPCs became a legal requirement for all commecial buildings let or sold from October and BES Consulting has recently won a deal with Marston's and Punch Taverns.
